About China King

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Cary; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–10 pm. It is closed on Wednesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach China King at (919) 233-8385; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, chinaking-cary.com.

This is my go to Chinese takeout spot in Cary. They have lots of tofu and veggie options. (Highly recommend the orange tofu!) The food is always hot and delicious, it’s always been ready within 15 minutes, and they give you a lot - I always get 2 or 3 meals out of whatever I get. No one has ever been rude a single time I’ve been there to pick up food. Definitely recommend for the next time you want takeout.

Stopped by for lunch (dined in). I ordered sesame tofu lunch special which came with plain fried rice. The food was tasty and the lunch special prices were decent. Plenty of parking and there were both indoor and also outdoor seatings available. Overall it was good.

β€œMETAL was in my Chicken” I normally order the same thing every time I come to this restaurant. This has been my favorite Chinese restaurant since I’ve moved here 3 years ago. The food has always been amazing and the staff are always so kind. I ordered through grub hub as normal on yesterday 11/21/2021 . The Food was sealed in the plastic container stapled as usual. I ate the first piece of chicken, I went to pick up the second piece and flipped it over and there was a metal piece cooked in the skin of it. It was half in and half out. I’m not saying don’t go here, but this is completely unacceptable. If I Had of bit into that piece of chicken, that metal piece would have went into my gums. The piece looks like it was from the frialator. I’m extremely disappointed.
